Awesome sounding Vinyl! Got it for a good price! If you are looking for an Elektra version, maybe you should consider buying this one.

I must have bought 20 or more of the EP through the years 87-89 from bringing the cassette with me and playing it at every party and place I could. Would play so much the old cassette issue would start happening from over use and rewinding and what not the songs would start sounding slow and stretched out. lol So for $6 I'd just replace and repeat over and over again. Luckily I still have 1 working Cassette the CD & LP in my collection. Amazingly the Cassette & L.P are the originals not sure if the CD is I know it's Mercury label not Electra like the LP and Cassette.

A nice little item the EP on trans orange vinyl. It sounds great considering it was done through the band and not in the studio, just through their own gear in their garage that the built just after puppets when Jason joined the band. It sounds awesome. However you can get this exact recording included on one side of the lp's from the triple lp garage inc release it just won't be on cool orange vinyl but yea if you like the talli boyz when they're havin fun playing covers than this is 4 you!

Oh yeah, this is a nice one! Punchy sound, beautiful color, flat and centered. Heavy weight cardboard sleeve and poly-lined inner sleeve. Thumbs up!

This remaster is surprisingly excellent! I love music in 24/96.

Sounds verry good, but I have to admit the remastered version on CD sounds better.

Very disappointed that people are paying more than $5.98 for these.

This Japanese pressing sounds way better than the U.S. pressing on CD, only difference is that this Japanese version is different on the song "The Small Hours". On the original 1987 release & this 2018 U.S. Version, at the beginning of the song your hear 4 High-hat hits & on this Japanese there are only 3 High-hat hits, one is missing. Maybe they did it to distinguish the Japanese & U.S. Versions, who knows.

This is a bit disappointing. Picture discs can be a bit noisy sometimes and this one definitely suffers from this affliction. Nice to look at but definitely not as good as the orange vinyl which sounds great.

This one sounds absolutely abysmal even by picture disc standards. You expect them to have a bit higher noise floor, but not to be borderline unlistenable.

Really? You knew this was the case with picture discs so how can you be disappointed lol

I just found a copy of the original vinyl version marked ELEKTRA 9 60757-1 at my local record shop for $40. I bought it and as soon as I got home I was able to really examine it because it was on display up behind the counter in the store and as soon as I saw it there I had the salesman hurry and grab it for me before either someone else got to it or before i shit my pants, luckily neither of these things happened. Anyway, after I got home I took it out of the outer sleeve and noticed the LP jacket/sleeve are in such beautiful condition it's like I bought it brand new from 1987! Then I took the record out and to my amazement it was like a brand new record! This thing has either only been played a couple times or not at all, I can't believe how amazing the condition is! There's not one mark on the sleeve or on the record anywhere. You never know what you may find so always keep your eyes out for a piece of treasure!

Has anyone listened to there cassette yet?? I opened mine right away and the recording is totally flawed. There’s a 2nd vocal track that plays early and under the main recording. It’s very annoying and unlistenable. Has anyone else noticed this??

My copy plays fine. Some of these newer produced cassettes can be hit or miss... I have a cassette copy of The Grinding Wheel from Overkill that sounds great, but I also have a cassette copy of Brotherhood of the Snake from Testament where i can hear ghosting from the opposite side in between songs of the side I was playing. Another strange anomaly I've run across with modern cassettes is not having any leader tape at the end of side one/beginning of side two of the 25th anniversary silver cassette edition of Nevermind from Nirvana. Which was very odd and reeked of cheapness. Anyway....

SOUNDS FANTASTIC. Excellent remaster and pressing of my favourite Metallica record. The bass and drums live in my chest when I listen to this. Oh and The Small Hours CRUSHES.

Very very very very very... did I say “very” cool collector’s item. Wonder how many of these were made? My distro got a total of 75, said doubtful to receive more. Store I manage got 7.

My copy has barcode 858978005707. But has blue sticker on front shrink wrap.

I got my copy from Amazon on 4-12-18, and the bar code is printed on the back cover, not stickered on the shrink-wrap.

Having barely mourned the loss of bassist Cliff Burton after his sudden and tragic death, Metallica were back in the studio, breaking in newcomer Jason Newsted with this short collection of covers. 'The $5.98 EP: Garage Days Re-Revisited' (bit of a mouthful, that) is a nice little E.P. that shows that even at a young age, Metallica were always good at doing cover versions, although the song choices themselves are quite obscure and certainly not the most exciting. I mean, let's be honest, how many people can honestly say they were Diamond Head fans or Holocaust fans before Metallica covered them?With that said, the band are on point here, and although this release was mostly meant for fun, it still shows a band full of ambition and enthusiasm. With production that, whilst sounding rough in places, fits the music perfectly and gives just the right amount of punch and grittiness. Any praise or criticisms aside, there's really no point in tracking this down these days. I say this because all five songs offered here appear on the 'Garage Inc.' album, a compilation of newly recorded and every previously released cover Metallica have done. And unless you're a collector looking to own everything, you're better off just getting that.

They're reissuing and most likely remastering this EP in April 2018.

I saw a sealed copy in my local store. The "$5.98 -- DO NOT PAY MORE!!" sticker on the shrink was partly covered by an "Original pressing - mint, sealed - $75" sticker. Truly we are honored guests at the funeral of irony.
