Don't be fooled by the the ridiculous title and artwork, this is a tremendous album, hard and heavy and angry and serious and much more. Prost!

No matter how many years he's gone, Karjalan Sissit personify rage as no other artist can. Consider the title of this new release and then think of the last one and the one before that and the one before that and the one preceding it... there's a message here, one which has been sounding out for his entire career: humanity is shit. Perhaps he'd prefer a more eloquent appraisal but sorry, this is the one you get because this is the one screamed every single time you appear.Karjalan have been my drinking buddy for about as long as I can remember. More than a few hopeless nights spent alone with just vodka and his music have been enjoyed. I'd like to think that this is how he begins germinating his compositions but though I love what he puts together there's no way in hell I'd ever want to be around when he's "working". He quite likes alcohol by the way just in case that wasn't clear ,take a look at some of the photos he's permitted taken of himself. My favorite one remains of him outside in what must be sub-zero temperatures in his shorts and boots sporting an axe in one hand and a bottle of something in the other. Bring on the dark times and Sissit will be there to see you through, he really understands depression and dire circumstances thoroughly. Supposing life has just knocked you down for the umpteenth time; put on what he composes and any thought of caring will soon vanish. When he says he wants us dead, he means it. This is nihilism on a grandiose scale; the burning vitriol oozes out between the cracks of rhythm and words(?) to cement this architectural nightmare wrought out of spite and contempt for the world around him firmly in one's mind. He doesn't waste time building up to a crescendo, preferring instead to just launch the assault the moment a track begins. We're beyond just simple aggression in the land of Karjalan, these are precision cast vignettes depicting (and more importantly incarnating) a world where only the blackest of morality and motive are allowed to thrive. This is the sound of a million blinded men beating their bloodied hands into pulp against solid rock because they have no other way to express their hatred. Add to this that their bones have long since been pounded into powder by doing so and you'll start to understand what '...Want You Dead' is all about.Life is short, life won't reward you. The only certain outcome is that it's going to be a waste. Rather than wallow in despair over the state of things, Karjalan Sissit though his unrelenting music doesn't even bother to play this game. His level of cynicism and misanthropy are things I hope to never attain and yet while his new albums plays out I can't help but marvel at what a glorious achievement it is.

Hey Marks, that picture you mentioned with Karjalan in sub-zero temperatures in his shorts and boots holding an axe, I used that pic in my Ice Bucket challenge video a couple of years ago. Lol.
