From the liner notes: Today house music is known as the jewel in the crown of the dance music sound. Historically this style spawned Techno, Acid, Garage, etc. and is the cornerstone of the dance movement. Trax Records stands legendary as the original home of house music. There aren't many points in music history like Trax Records in the 80's. For those hooked on house it's the defining era of the culture. Every house music pioneer including Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Adonis, Phuture, Screamin' Rachael, and a host of others passed through the Trax doors. As Motown records stands for the soul generation, Trax Records is the core of the house generation. For the first time ever the music that set the whole world dancing is available on CD. This beautifully retrospective collection of awesome historical tracks, truly changed peoples' lives. This is the house that Trax built.

Acebiolane
This CD is essential to own for those who want a compilation of 80s and early 90s American house music. It has some of the most familiar tracks (or should I say Traxx, as in the house music label?) of the classic house music years, and some songs I never heard but really hook me in. And I didn't have to scrounge around record stores nationwide in search of overpriced, scruffy, rare 12-inch singles to listen to them. Only complaint is the recording quality is B-level; it's fine, considering the master recordings, but it's a little hissy and has low input levels, compared to other CDs of 1990s and beyond.
