Yeah, pretty sure I snagged a copy of this because it skips like crazy all along (the best parts of) Rollin' & Scratchin'. A bit noisy in other parts as well, and skips even after a good cleaning. Gonna try and find an OG copy instead.

I am definitely sure that I have this version as it has Parlophone and the label code on all record labels. However, I have MPO 1820261 stamped on all sides. Maybe I have a new repress or Matrix variation. Also I am playing this album on an AT LP-60 (fixed tone arm) and it hasn't skipped on Rollin' and Scratchin' (only some CD Stutter around the 3:30 mark when the song ramps) but I had multiple skips on Around The World. I cleaned the record before play on my Spin Clean washer system. Sounds excellent though, can't recommend enough.

Great sound on my copy. I'm using a Technics SL-1200MK3D. No skips, no issues. For those complaining about skips using their Crosleys etc, maybe consider changing your turntable before blaming the vinyl.

No issues with skipping on the repress version on my player. Solid purchase for fans of late 90's house music and techno genres.

I ordered the original 1996 pressing but I received this instead and sadly it skips all over the place.

Rolling Flipper
The best Daft Punk album in my opinion. When I think that without the Chemical Brothers, "Homework" would probably have never been released. You can really hear the influence of the British duo, especially in "Rollin' and Scratchin'"."Alive" is my all time favorite, it hits you straight in your soul. Emotional and rythmical, what does the people want more ? On the contrary, "Rock'n Roll" has always been too hard for me and I still find "Around The World" quite annoying and overrated.A solid record that has to be in any electronic collection.

Another one with a great record in a shitty edition :( Skips too much in the greatest songs. I will try to clean it and preserve it for the moment I get a good turntable.

This is, and I suspect always will be, my favourite House lp. I remember being totally skint the day it came out and gladly selling, for exchange value, the two Oasis albums I had no use whatsoever for, in order to buy 'Homework'. I made tons of tape copies of it for practically everyone I knew, and played it literally hundreds of times. The weekend after it came out, I was at a shit student party across the road from my ex's flat, where fucking ABBA kept being played. I don't exactly hate ABBA, but listening to them for hours on end is too much. I ran over to my exes and grabbed my cd of 'Homework' to bring back over. As soon as it was put on the stereo it literally brought that party back to life. So fresh and energetic, and still sounding good 20 years later!

My copy skips. I checked the matrix runouts and other numbers associated with my Homework vinyl from here and they are the same. My turntable is an Audio Techica AT-LP60, and yes I'm aware that the skipping may be related to not having a "good" turntable like the AT-LP120 model, or some other good Technics turntable. The vinyls in the album are in good condition, I didn't do anything wrong with them. I received the Homework vinyl brand new on Christmas day (possibly came from Amazon). So the skipping issue could be caused from not having a "good" turntable or I have a bad pressing.... So what do you guys think?

I just recorded my copy today - no skips at all.Nothing audible of the other defects mentioned here.I listened -very- hard to hear the "CD stutter" in Rollin&Scratchin - not present on my copy. The last 30 seconds of the same song are exactly as on the CD, no skipping, not in between and not at the end. The Song ends with an effect that simulates a "hanging" or "jumping" CD, which is in fact the normal ending for this song.My deck is a linear tracker from the early 1990s - nothing fancy, but set up with care. That said - the sound of the discs is very nice overall, but the original CD release virtually "destroys" it on every level. It is nice to have this masterpiece of electronic music on vinyl - but compared to the digital release it is nothing but a shadow of what Daft Punks sound really means.Yes, there is "better dynamics" on the vinyl - if you believe in the Dynamic Range Database having some real meaning to the "sound" of a release - surprise: there isn't (always).Daft Punks Music is not programmed to have expanded dynamics (remember: this means the difference between the loudest and the quietest part of the action) - it is meant to punch you in the face, to split your brain with the square waves and to empty your ear drums of all the dust. All this to get your butt moivin' - and it works perfectly (for me...).The music and the sounds on "Homework" are like streamlined for the digital age and deliver perfectly. The CD has no noise, no clipping, no distortion, uses headroom perfectly and is absolutely stunning to listen to. It may sound "loudness war infected" to vinyl-ears, but it is not - for me it just shows, in a perfect way, the technical advantages of a CD become reality in the final product. In direct comparison the vinyl offers a raised noise level (normal for vinyl) and generally softer sound (less "punch" or "kick"). If you are not into this kind of music, then the pure power and clean energy of the CD may be a little "too much" for your ears. The vinyl then may give you a more relaxed listening experience. The absolute genius of all the songs is still there... no doubt on that. And the full frequncy range is still there too - you only have to push that amp a little more to inform the neighbours what's playin'. ;)An advantage of the vinyl is the fact, that the somewhat lowered levels opens up your ears for the quieter parts of "Homework" - the CD tends to "bang it all away". And by this it sometimes tends to mask the details in between all the "boom". But this effect is temporal - if you listen carefully you can (of course) find all the details on the CD too. The vinyl simply offers a shifted focus on the album and this can be very nice too.To sum it up - this Re-Issue is made very well, there might be a chance you get a copy that has "issues" - but I got lucky this time. The vinyl lover will get everything(!) he craves for. But I must admit that to me it is only a "nice addon" to my Daft Punk catalog. The source for this release was definetely a high res copy, as there are no visible frequency limitations as high as 19 or 20 Khz. But I gave it only a 48/24 treatment... No pre-echoes, so I guess it was a digital source (... to be honest, I hardly doubt that there is a traditional analog master for this album to begin with...). If your copy is clean, then this pressing will shine brightly and there is nothing to complain about.

Not skips as such, but definitely other defects. "Rollin' & Scratchin'" sounds like it has CD stuttering in (around 1:41 mark). There are others as well of a similar nature... does suck because the quality of the pressing is quite nice otherwise... but whatever they mastered it from had issues to begin with (is my speculation).

This version skips. It is still an enjoyable experience but the skips do interrupt the play. The sound quality is decent.
