Very well done reissue on 180g. One of the absolute greatest psych albums of all time. I would have been perfectly happy if the four additional songs on the single were included on the lp like on previous reissues, but its a neat novelty.

The fact that this album is, apparently, an IRON BUTTERFLY-bandwagon-jump and still pretty good is a testament to the durability of (first-wave) psychedelic rock. The lyric contains some overly-facile no-effort rhymes made forgiveable by others of better effort. The slit-eyed bandmembers are visibly stoned on the back cover which is a plus. The one thing that irks me to no end is that I bought this album on the merit of the single "Magic Potion" and it's anomolously proficient doublebass writing and playing, some of the earliest ever and surprisingly well-recorded, and not only is there not one single other single or song on this collection with any doublebass, there is, to these ears, not one other single or song on the collection with any AUDIBLE BASSDRUM AT ALL!ARGH.There is some mysterious reasoning in the making of (firstwave) psychedelic rock albums wherein only one goddamn song (on the majority of albums) is heavy or good or different and the rest are reliably formulaic and relatively safe.MUMBLE TOES over and over again!

My previous copy was also missing both A7 and B7, which is a shame, since "Magic Potion" must be their best song! I was surprised to see the bonus tracks missing from this edition! They are mentioned on the back sleeve, but not on the labels. I sent the Sunbeam Records email, why they deleted the best songs from the LP. They are not mentioned anymore on their website, so perhaps this is a 2011 re-release.... The sleeve is from the 2006 edt but the record is different. I wonder what happened there! So I guess this edition needs to be added to Discogs....
