OK. I'M A little pissed. I was hoping no one would take the name VERMONT. Least of all sound like this. Emo-lite from PROMISE RING guys (Davey von Bohlen: guitars/vocals and Dan Didier: drums) receiving telepathic signals from their pets and various house plants and turning them into songs. The title track "Living Together" is quite nice and feels the fullest of the eleven on the album. But things start to bog down seriously by the time "Downtown Heart" rolls around; as the B side plays out - my patience does too. Reusing a favorite overused line from 1997's Nothing Feels Good - I'm not as good as the interstates are / I just can't take you that far "Tiny White Crosses" exhausts their supply of ideas giving the rest of the record a constrained feel. Whiny self-indulgent mediocrity, something this label wags its tail for.... Give back the name if your not going to do it justice!
