It's so easy
"Monochill" features nice melodic 303 lines, but rhythmically it doesn't keep moving. Just when the danceable portion begins around the 7:30 mark, the drums abruptly drop out. Unfortunately, the sleek, chill atmosphere ends with the dreadful, directionless "Voltage Control." "No Comment" thankfully picks up the pace, but the momentum stalls again with the lackluster and oddly-named "Compress It." Lastly we come to "Dub," a half-hour demo of early-80s synthesizer equipment that goes very nearly nowhere. You don't notice when it finally ends because you haven't been paying attention for the past 25 minutes. Still, the album exceeds in quality (though sadly not quantity) most of the uninspired Fax wankery of its time. 2/5
