"The two psychedelic dream-pop tunes here bring forth a broader, dreamy side of Children’s sound, with higher vocals and floating synths (picture Julian Casablancas laying vocals on some lush Ariel Pink or Mac DeMarco-tune). The 60’s feel of the album is no longer present, and seems now to be more influenced by a dreamy modern-sound with 80’s aesthetics underneath. Their adaption to this dream-pop/indie sound makes it seem like it’s been like this forever though, and there certainly were elements of this on their previous album as well."
