This is an absolutely stunning all-round release from one of Sweden’s finest young trance exports Ashkan Fardost. The Original Mix of ‘Touched By The Sun’ is the most orthodox trancer of the three productions present, driven along by brisk, warm synth lines and a beautiful, soft electric guitar riff. The real masterpieces, however, are the two tracks that follow. Envio’s ‘Sunrise Remix’ is similar to its predecessor, yet starts with much more ambient soundscapes, slowly building almost as if the listener is waking from slumber as first light begins to break. The track tantalisingly builds and builds to a climax, with the choruses almost exactly the same as the Original Mix but having benefited from a more gradual build-up over the preceding minutes. Rusch & Elusive’s ‘Chill Out Mix’ is pure ambient bliss, incorporating an acoustic guitar part in addition to the electric guitar riff whilst slowing down the synths and building some sweeping atmospheres to create arguably one of the most beautiful pieces of chill out trance ever. An essential purchase.
