The truth is, both versions (the original 1983 and 1988 vocal remix) have the same vocals, Murat Konar. Kurt Harland never sang "Running" on records, but in shows. The main diference between these versions is the vocal reverbs and delay effects, better mastering and extra effects in some instruments, and the inclusion of "The Swamp", another song with same instruments from "Running" into the 1988 remix. Both "Running" and "The Swamp", the early versions, are listed on "Creatures Of Influence" release (CD, 12").

Can you please tell me which 12" release has the 1988 remixed "Running" mix?

This wass the original version of a classic. The vocals by Murat are absolutely horrible and are almost truly unlistenable (thanks Kurt for your later version!). The production is crude and listless but shows a glimmer of promise. Thankfully, Paul Robb (Schwitter is Robb) later remade this and made it the gem it became. If it at first you don't succeed...

Both vocals are Murat's voice.Just different intonation and yes, the first one was... strange!
