Cuby & The Blizzards is a legendary Drentse blues band in the mid-sixties the Dutch music world bewildered with stunning live shows and fine sheet metal. Founded by singer Harry Muskee and guitarist Eelco Gelling grew the band soon became the Dutch counterpart of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Many Dutch blues musician, among whom the later rock star Herman Brood, served some time in the Blizzards, which in turn the American bluesman Eddy Boyd and the Irish rock singer Van Morrison accompanied during their Dutch tours. After many line-up in the mid-1970s seemed definitively over. Mahmoud continued to profile without much success in bands like Red White 'n Blue, Mahdi and Mahmoud. Until 1996 there will be gigs under the name Cuby & The Blizzards, but that occupation is in fact a composite ' super band ', with the next to some old Blizzards also ex-members from other large Dutch blues bands like Livin' Blues, Flavium and Sweet'd Buster.
