What a trip back in time I had listening to this cd, and by an artist I had never previously heard of. Why Ruth McFadden never made the top rank of doo-wop, blues, jump, r 'n' b - I just don't know. Perhaps a little more restrained than La Vern Baker, but she has a voice that can beat it out with the best as well as deliver a great ballad. This cd covers nearly all her main (usually local) hits, with the exception of Ghetto Woman. Otherwise she is mostly to be found on doo-wop compilations, and this may be her only solo cd that was ever made, or may still be found.
