It's so easy
Motown disco-funk is the flavour on Afrika’s only full-length release, despite being active in the Sydney music scene for around 8 years. Released on the tiny Axent label (an extension of Axent Studios), the group run through a number of Tamla-Motown covers including ‘I’m In The Mood For Love’, ‘Don’t Stop Loving Me Now’ and ‘I Thought I was The Only One.’ The stand-out cut is the choppy I Love Music with its sweet conga intro and long disco-funk breakdown midway through. There’s also a nice version of ‘You’re The One.’ The group also cut two singles which I have never come across, but most of that material also appears in the album (aussiefunk.blogspot.com).
