The CD shows Hawkwind at a formative stage, some of the tracks had been recorded before they were fully one year old. The first four tracks were recorded from 1970 to 1971 during their first ever BBC sessions. "Paranoia / See It As You Really Are" was recorded at Paris Cinema, London, 5th November 1970. "I Do It" was recorded at Playhouse Theatre, London, 19th April 1971. "Improvise...Compromise...Reprise" comprises a part of a recorded gig at Colchester Technical College, 19th February 1971.
