The Chase is the most personal recording of Garth’s career. Feeling the pressures of balancing family and career, Garth’s raw emotions came through, and the result is both fiery and quietly thoughtful. The Chase contains two of the most poignant lyrics in country music: “Learning To Live Again” and “Somewhere Other Than the Night.” The co-written first single, "We Shall Be Free," was written in the aftermath of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and is considered one of the music world’s most commanding testaments to brotherhood and tolerance. Intense and important.
