thanks a lot... interesting to hear the mastering differences between the two. i'm quite happy with the reissue myself as well, but as i've said before elsewhere, even the highest quality repress isn't a 100% replacement for the original, and never will be; reissues & originals are best thought of as separate entities.that said, quality reissues like this are still important, since they make the music more accessible for a price more within reason to most people. I definitely intend to keep looking for the originals, as collectors' pieces, but the DE reissue is a solid listening copy. they have yet to disappoint with their italo reissues and I hope to see more good things from them in future.

Ok puffketeer, so my copy finally arrived. I have a few observations:1. There is a tempo difference of almost 1bpm between the original and this Dark Entries issue. The original 12" runs at 119.37bpm, and the Dark Entries runs at 120.19bpm.2. While the original is 33rpm, the Dark Entries reissue is 45rpm. The fact that it's quieter is actually something of a relief, as to go any louder than the original pressing would certainly have resulted in clipping. The slightly faster tempo looks to be the more correct one, as I assume the original track was designed for 120bpm exactly. My Audio Technica AT-LP1240 (while being direct drive) is probably still to blame for this. Even Technics 1200's have this (very minor) issue.Now for the more trivial matter, that being the artwork. While I appreciate that Dark Entries made a picture sleeve for this, I would have probably been more happy with a DE-branded reproduction of the original generic Il Discotto Productions company sleeve. The Dark Entries sleeve is not bad per se, you can see that they're trying to emulate that mid-80's aesthetic, but it kinda falls short. Hey, as I said, it's a trivial matter and I appreciate them trying.I'm really looking forward to seeing what Italo gems they give new life to next.

i'd be interested myself... for me, reissues do not preclude wanting to find the original pressings, they're just a way to have the music in a more affordable package until I can find the original as wellthough of course, since this is dark entries we're talking about, I have no doubt as to the quality of the reissue

I'm looking forward to this reissue, as I own a NM copy of the original black vinyl. I'm going to do an A-B test recording to see what differences (if any) there are.People are welcome to hit me up for .wav sample requests once I get my copy.I'm using an Audio Technica AT-LP1240 (standard RCA cables, not USB connection) with a Nagaoka MP-110 through a Marantz 2220b, so I think my setup is decent enough to tell any differences in playback.
