Uhh ? Came out in late 2006, such a goody track for me :) ... Always the perfect opener (A-Side Original) ... Stupendous, deelicious beach / bar house ... Gotta love Defected for giving this a proper release ... Will sound even better in 2026 // Tommy

Just found this back in the pile of older vinyl. Wow, it sounds like vintage Jupiter / Polysix stuff. Amazing !!!!!

Original
A1: House. Fairly stripped back reimagining of the original. More focused on the beats. Perhaps more funky, definitely deeper and loses a good deal of it's commercial sound (as much as you can with a big hit). It's originality comes is the shape of an acidy lead that works very well. Not huge by any means but a solid remix. [NINE]A2: House (Vintage). Vintage piano lead is very club classic but the beats and sounds around it are much more up to date. Shares little or nothing with the original so a genuine option if your not a fan. I'd swear it's called "dusty dub" because it was an altogether different track sat on a shelf in Kerri's production room. Some really nice piano work overlaid in the second half further distancing itself from the original and much closer to my tastes but it doesn't pop and you can see why it may have been left neglected for a while. [SEVEN]B1: House/Electro. Braxe really takes ownership of this track here. Making this sound like a genuine Roule release that has later had a much slower, banal, commercial remix done after. This trumps the original in every way. More layer's, more pop, just much better realised and a happier, albeit more intimate club experience. The breakdown does come closer to the original but even then it's improved. Remixes of this standard are not easily created. Kudos. [GOLDTEN]B2: House/Electro. Kraftwerk remix? No but genuinely has that vintage feel in some of it's chords. Nicely straddles the two genre's and will surely appeal to both camps though perhaps making it difficult to completely embrace for the Electro community. Uses a great "Discopolis" robotic sample. While there's piles of originality it does use some of the originals markers ,while not in your face you will be aware of it's DNA. It even has a Disco breakdown. Given the number of remixers this does well to comfortably grab the silver medal. [TEN]

This amazing track samples in its soul the intro of "Another Life", a track from italo disco masters Kano, that its found even in the Greatest Hits of these italian guys (its the last track). The 'original' goes into a synth-pop/acid house feeling, but Menace/Lifelike bring us back to the present with a warm summer feeling, trance-balearic for dancefloors, mixtapes and podcasts. Great work, but don't get too serious on the hype, as Menace is featuring several interviews as a synthetizer genius.

Just when I thought Lifelike and Kris Menace's Discopolis could not get anymore remixes another 12" comes out. I think the original mix of Discopolis is a superb and fantastic track but I had been unimpressed with all other interpretations and remixes thus far. I was skeptical about this release becuase most of the remixes, including the Chris Lake remix here are really not that different from the original mix. I decided to purchase this vinyl anyways though as I love the original so much, and that turned out to be an extremely good decision. Toby Flowerz Re-Rub adds so much to the original without drastically changing the track. When you hear the Re-Rub it's still immediately recognizeable as Discopolis, but it has a much heavier and louder feel to it. The original mix of Discopolis absolutely pales in comparison to the Toby Flowerz Re-Rub. The loud and infectious synthesizer and resampling of the original melody completely destroy dancefloors. The breakdown and buildup at the end of the track is nothing short of epic. Perhaps now that the Toby Flowerz Re-Rub has been released an end can be put to the remixes of Discopolis. I didn't think the original could be improved upon this much but Toby Flowerz absolutely proved that wrong. If Discopolis is finally retired in terms of remixes, there is no better way to go out.

"Discopolis" is a fine cut in the traditions of italo-disco and the Roule/Crydamoure imprints (though not as blatantly sample heavy as the latter). The funk is in full effect here with a fantastic synth lead and deep bass. No surprise that Alan Braxe would release this!
