Magnificent, and an absolutely praise worthy follow up to Alex Under's instant classic debut album, Dispositivos de mi granja, his newest Sorbere cerebros offers more of the same: scarse yet skilfully placed and arranged layers, perfectly pitched and surpisingly innocent and benevolent melodies combined with soft, but very dance floor effective percussion. And it really does sound great. Alex Under is obviously on the verge of something great, and just refuses to fall into the same category with countless other minimal producers who display less talent throughout an entire album than Alex does on, let's use it to set an example, Cerebrote De Schizofrenia. I mean, check this tune out! A bouncy, trippy melody kicks off right with the track's opening, and as time passes by, carefully moulded and crafted ideas are executed via patient and hypnotic build ups, which are achieved through constant addition of layers, teasing the listener in a manner that his attention and focus will be glued to the music coming out of the speakers. Bloody awesome, and the whole part after the four minute mark on the afore mentioned track is superb, especially when that melody gets played on an adequate sound system. Let me say it loud and clear: another sure shot from mr. Under. This is a very unique and mature take on the minimal aesthetic despite the fact it sounds very playful upon initial listens.

This release influenced me a lot. I call this kind of stuff hypnotech and this one is a true gem I've been listening to several years. The melodies are so-o-o-o catchy!! Perfect balance, never gets boring, work of a genius!! Drums, baseline + simple melody or two + deranged voice trying to speak Martian with you... Doesn't look sophisticated... But try making something driving like that and you'll discover that it is enormous talent of this guy that turns these few tools into dance-floor killers every-time he is approaching his music making machines. Moreover, Alex is one of the few guys out there that has his very own sound that can be easily recognized. I do think that for this release and [apnea 10] Alex should be perpetualized in marble or at least have a street named after him.
