This is quit an interesting release. The titel suggest that these tracks are remixes of the track 'Bounce' on the record Space Trax 4.(Stealth Records) But in reality only the first remix by George Ortega comes close to the origional version wich can be labeled as progressive house. But the other tracks on this record are in my opinon more intersting, why? because if you look at the time they where made (1993) you will hear that these tracks are quit original. The Disease mix by maarten vd vleuten(gangrene) is somewath of a building acid stomper. The track begins with a mixture of roland X0X drum machine patterns that are put thru some unique FX wich makes them sound like squelkin metal objects. After a while a tweaked 303 comes in wich is filterd with each new wave till a modulating climax. The Only Problem with this track is variation, there is only one drum pattern and one 303 pattern, so halfway the track starts all over again... The Second Remix by George Ortega is more of a standard dark acidtechno track, only a 303, 808 and a 909. But the 303 is drenched through various effects like a delay and a chorus wich gives you that streched spacey feeling, combined with some quit obviuous (but not cheesey) tweaking and distorted hi-hats this track is perfect when played through a big soundsystem with a strobe. The 4th mix on this record by Gangrene give you abit of oldschool hardcore feeling, overdriven 909 kicks wich some high pitched cutting synth riff makes this the hardest track on the record. Combined with distorted snares, some weird samples and a almost not recocnizable 303 this will go nice in any hard driven set. All in all if you like oldschool and acid this release is worth looking for!
