Picked up a copy of this in the Juno sale for buttons and am pleased that it is far more than the couple of samples I heard. Now on the lookout for their other release which if the reviews are to be believed is even better.

Plastyc Buddha's second album, OUR FRIENDS ECLECTIC, kicks off with a R&B slow jam, "Scare Myself," that signals a change in direction from their lounge-jazz of their earlier work. Okay, I'm willing to give it a chance. "Personal Faith" has an acoustic guitar amidst moody electronics -- a harbinger of things to come. With fewer upbeat tracks, the album moves a bit glacially, even with the addition of vocals. The stop-start nature of "Outstretched" adds a some sonic interest, but the album as a whole seems ephemeral, without even a strong, hook-laden track to capture our attention, though "Ce Soir" comes the closest. This is the type of album you want to be friends with, but it's better that you're stay acquaintances.
