I have this copy, just bought it. Vinyl IS pressed on 180g and there IS download card for entire album in MP3 format. I think it's regular edition with different sticker only. Regards.

Concur with everyone below: this LP is possibly best 'common-or-garden' modern vinyl pressing I own.No fancy audiophile label. Mass sold on Amazon.But just f**king brilliant sounding!

I really don't get it.... there seems to be crossover information regarding US vs EU versions. I bought mine because I thought it was the EU version. The bar code is 602537649747. The small text next to it says "Manufactured in Germany by Furnace MFG / The Pallas Group for Capitol Records", but also says "Made in USA" and then "B001983901". The US listing on here has all the same info/notes as the EU listing. Both say Germany? Do both have the "Manufactured in Germany" line? Is there a US version that doesnt say that? I really don't get it.... there seems to be crossover information regarding US vs EU versions. It seems like the only actual difference is the "Made in..." line... EU vs USA. Is there a version that DOES NOT say manufactured in Germany by Pallas? Can someone give a clear response?

There are no separate "EU" and "US" versions in this case.

One of my favorite albums. Lovely songs from Beck. No issues with my copy at all, great quality.

It's an absolute sonic masterpiece - instruments come out of nowhere, deep bass, fabulous articulate acoustic guitar work, Beck's singing is so smooth, such attention to detail on producing enveloping stereo harmonies. Everything about his record is so deep and rich, but let's not forget the Bob Ludwig / Bernie Grundman magic here as its getting all that fabulous production to effortlessly float into the room. I have the German Pallas pressing and it too has a few clicks and pops so I have run it through the cleaning machine twice and its all gone.

And now, after 6-7 plays the whole albums deteriorated into constant hard left / right clicks - sad indeed. I am going to look for another copy.... I have cleaned this album three / four times now and nothings improving....

My copy says Manufactured in Germany by the Pallas Group but it also says Made in USA.Superb pressing. Very quiet.

I'm in the US and bought both the US and the EU pressings. The US pressing is pretty bad and the EU pressing is pretty excellent. Vinyl quality and mfg process control at Pallas beats almost every mfg we have over here-- and especially Rainbo and United-- which seem to press a very disproportionate share of bad vinyl. Get the EU pressing. Oh, and if you like Beck's "Sea Change" album, this is a continuation of that project. A masterful and beautiful work of art.

I bought this LP from Amazon US and I received a very bad pressing of this LP - it skips a lot on both sides which is really unbearable to listen to. It doesn't say pressed by Pallas at the back so I guess stay away from non-german pressed version of LP.

This is a great piece of music. Not many words after SEA CHANGE. This record is one of the best in 2010-2020 decade. Beck is full of energy. And 'energy' does not mean 'power'.....'energy' many times in music equals feelings...even soft feelings. This album is full of feelings...full of dreams..... sensitivity...full of that "energy". Thanks Mr. (Beck) Hansen!

Beautifully crafted album, a must have for the pure relaxing, atmospheric guitar and vocals. Very chilled out and moody, in the same vein as Sea Change.

Is there a difference between the two LP-versions? Just bought one, but can't really tell which of the two it is.

One of those modern classics. Even if you aren't a Beck fan, this is worth a listen. It's a hefty LP and seems to be a quality pressing. It's also a lovely album cover. Would have been nice as a gatefold with additional content, but it's really the music you are after on this one.

Just listened to this last night, very clean pressing, states "Made in Germany" on the record label. Pallas pressing plant. Love this album.

I bought a US pressing of this album just recently and love it. I see some comments about surface noise, but my copy seems to be fine. It is quiet music, especially for Beck, so might be worth the investment in a German copy if the US version really is this hit and miss.

HELP . . . My husband is incarcerated and inmates are only allowed CASSETTE tapes which have to be NEW & SEALED . . . what a joke our penal system is . . . I want to send him Beck's Morning Phase and Stephen Marley's Mind Control but they must be in cassette format, new and sealed. I got my LP copy off a record store in Washington DC. Paid a hefty $24 for it which is way more of what I'm willing to shell out for vinyl these days (yes I'm probably cheap), however given my choices, not much of an alternative either. Any serious vinyl collector will know that finding a record with a dead quiet surface is as rare as hen's teeth, even on brand new shrink wrapped vinyl. However this one is, something I'm ecstatically happy about. You should look for the words "Pressed by Pallas Group" or similar on the back sleeve's fine print. Pallas is a German pressing facility and given the fame of the Germans, they don't skimp on the quality control and manufacture and it shows on this record. I won't comment on the music itself as I think there are plenty of sources to sample it online and, well, if you are reading this, you are probably a Beck fan anyway.

$24 is cheaper than vinyl was 20 years ago dude.

I ordered the vinyl in January 2014 and got a first release pressing. The sound is excellent but the vinyl quality is clearly lacking. Endless ticks and pops. This use of either cheap vinyl or dirty stampers is endemic in the US. My suggestion is to return crap quality vinyl as often as possible. There is no other or better way to send a message to the labels-- that when they charge $25 or more for an LP they have a responsibility to provide decent quality control. Pressing plants like United and Rainbo have an abysmal track record. Certain indy labels like Merge records seem wholly unconcerned with the quality of their products and I've nearly given up purchasing vinyl from them as it's VERY bad 90% of the time. I buy hundreds of LP's per year and the patterns of poor quality become obvious at that level. Pressers like QRP and Pallas somehow manage to produce consistently excellent quality releases where you will get a clean quiet pressing at least 90% of the time.If you want vinyl to prosper as a format then my advice is to return every bad copy of any LP you purchase. Demand quality or they will continue to sell you crap with a smile. I've spoken to some label executives (who will remain nameless) who flat out believe we're suckers for buying vinyl at all and actually think that most of their customers could care less about the quality of the vinyl and simply buy their LP's for the covers. Truth is they just don;t care because they do not get enough returns. Beck has more control over his product than most artists and it's extremely disappointing that something as beautiful as Morning Phase is pressed on cheap vinyl by manufacturers that obviously don't give a crap about their final products.

@ WesHeadley I live in Europe and ordered what I thought was the European edition through Amazon UK. Turns out that I got the US pressing?! But it is still manufactured and pressed in EU/Pallas.Are you sure that your copy isn't as well? I know that US pressings often are made East/West coast, but this is probably an all EU pressing?
