Hands down the best blues album I own / one of the best albums in my collection. AP have done a fabulous job. It sounds absolutely incredible (no surface noise whatsoever), deep bass (so important and so easy to get wrong on these remasters) with JLH centre stage of some truly wonderful musicianship. The compositions are so accessible, so loose, that they are literally impossible to predict and once your in the groove, literally anything could happen.

One of the best blues albums ever recorded, I never tire of it. This is definitely the definitive digital medium to hear it in. Both the DSD and PMC layers are fantastic.

Hi, does anybody else know of a "version" of this album that is stereo vinyl in a mono sleeve? By this I mean that it is obviously a "mono" sleeve repurposed to house a stereo LP. The catalogue number is A-9103 everywhere from cover to label -- no AS anywhere. There are "stereo" stickers plastered on the front and back, and the word "monaural" on the spine has been marked out. Even the vinyl label looks it was a mono label hastily printed over with "stereo" (overlaps on side B with the phrase "33 1/3 RPM"). Sorry, I make it sound like someone just marked up a mono copy so it would look like stereo, but it was obviously done by the label, or at least the pressing company....Please contact me if you have any info on this "version"!
