So in this true story, I am going to rewind (me selector) back to 1986. It was my 13th birthday and my brother (R.I.P.) gave me a record token. I think it was for Our Price or Record House? My parents took me to High Wycombe so I could spend my birthday money. I bought a pair of Hi-tec Nationals and a grey and light blue Nike kagool. Gawd I thought I was so cool! Then we went to the local record shop so I could buy another Electro compilation as I was M.F.I. mad for it! Electro 8 jumped off the racks so I promptly bought it!When I got home I quickly raced upstairs to pop this cassette (record vinyl seemed so uncool at the time????) into my Matsui (not so cool) boombox. Each track was super cool and still to this day I love the track order! So this is where it all goes a bit weird and surreal. After listening to the compilation like a hundred times it's time for dinner. The news was on the T.V. and sadly to my horror, I viewed the Space Shuttle Challenger exploding killing all on board! Now, this is where it gets uncanny. My birthday was the 28th of January 1986. The birthday card with the record token which my brother bought me had a space shuttle on the front of it. With the record token, I bought Electro 8. And on the back of the inlay cover was a picture of a...... space shuttle.Enough said!
