I would have given this 5 stars but 'that' track title brought back harrowing memories of when I lost a Youth Club chess competition...why can't the pieces just have one name, why must they have two or more, why!? It truly is a fucked up world we live in.

Glad I got here before somebody leaves a comment along the lines of Juno's resident reviewer: "the epic, gauzy, lo-fi madness of "I Only Hit You 'Cause I Love You" is worthy of a Panzerkreuz release (shame about the title)". It seems that many of Discogs' community (and Juno's reviewer) have problems differentiating between Art, Fiction and Truth. Do you all have the same problem with a movie or a novel that depicts an event that you don't like? Great record btw.

Well your comment reveals more about your ignorance than anything. Using the straw-man of 'no-one asked you to buy or listen to the record' is completely irrelevant. You might not see this as 'vindication for domestic abuse', but the point remains that the title is offensive to some people, and is unnecessary. Society is the context for both this record and the issue. Perhaps you've not experienced the context in which this might offend someone, in which case it would make complete sense that you've got absolutely no idea.

The artist found the title suitable for his creation, no one asked you to buy or listen to the record. The people who you say to have a problem with the title feel uneasy about it because of the phrase or because of some personal issues? I don't see this as some vindication for domestic abuse, we are not even talking about some industrial/noise snuff release openly promoting violence. I don't see how can this offend anyone without some context.

Well, insults aside (best ignored, I find), who can blame an artist in the current market (hundreds and thousands of 12" releases every year) for using a negative to get a track noticed? It's sensationalism I guess, like tabloid newspapers, only fictional. Without a negative reaction there would be no point. The artist isn't taking sides and the track title is merely a term of reference as there are no lyrics. Art reflects society and unfortunately society isn't perfect. innit (sic).

more solid gold from the most pathetic guy on discogs!!dont even know how to answer this but just consider this: is there a need for this record to have this title? im not gonna reel off any of the connotations but it could be extremely triggering phrase for many people. as the juno ''reviewer'' (assuming its tony who is a fantastic writer) points out, the track would still be excellent without the title. im sure many people wont have a problem with it but i guarantee you there are people who will, theres simply no need for it. thanks
