In 1984/85 Sodom wanted to release a full length album but their record label insisted on it being a mini album: the now classic In The Sign Of Evil, an important record for death/black/thrash metal. In 2007 Sodom re-recorded this classic with the original line-up, this time as the full length they had originally planned which means they added ancient, unheard, lost tracks that have been withhold from the metal world for over 20 years: a shame as tracks like the earworm Bloody Corpse are great, reeking of early 80s obscurity with outstanding, evil vocals by Tom as if he had never left the occult path. Grave Violator's guitar is A1 contributing a lot to the authentic flair. The Final Sign Of Evil is more than a nostalgic project, it's Sodom's best release since Better Off Dead and it's also the final sign of Witchhunter who died a year later. His presence has probably been important for the spirit of this recording (for me he IS the spirit of Sodom), yet it shall not be concealed that he doesn't play well here - a fact that every true Sodomaniac will excuse.
