GODMAX
Curious that Al would cover 70's rock songs after making a song called "70's Rock Must Die" with Lard. At any rate, this disc is quite good as a whole. It is not to be taken very seriously, though. This album was clearly made just for the fun of it. While most of the tracks are previously unreleased, "Roadhouse Blues", "Supernaut", and "Lay Lady Lay" appeared on earlier albums. The highlight of the disc, in my humble opinion, is "What A Wonderful World". I never thought Al could sing a "beautiful" song ... successfully! While Al has used the word "Love" in his songs before, I've never heard him say the phrase "I love you". Of course, being Al, he "punked" it up for the last half of the full version. And as a generous bonus, he tweaked the two parts of the song, and made two "edits" of the song (one soft and relaxing with no guitars, and one completely harsh and energized with PLENTY of noisy guitars.
