I managed to find this DVD for $1 and thought it looked mildly entertaining. To be blunt; it is. There is actually a wide variety of comedians on this DVD despite the fact that it looks like it's by asians for asians. Some comedians are average and some are awesome. There are no bad comedians to be found here which is surprising. I would say the worst one is the host of most of the episodes - Joey Guila. He's funny at times but mostly annoying and unnecessary. He repeats a lot of jokes, too. Maybe not word-for-word, but they're the same jokes nevertheless. Now, it's time to mention the most awful thing about this DVD. In fact, it's the most awful thing I have ever seen or heard on any stand-up comedy thing. They edit in a laugh track throughout each comedian's set. What the fuck? Are you serious? Whoever edited these episodes with this obviously looped laugh track should be fired. It's terrible and ruins plenty of great punchlines, etc. It's so bad that they even put it after some things that the comedians say that aren't even supposed to be funny like setups to the next bit and stuff. The timing is awful as well. A lot of the time the artificial laugh track starts a good second before anyone would ever laugh at the material thus sucking any potential enjoyment out of the bit. The fact that this is so noticeable (because of its timing, looping and echoing) really distracts from the humour to be found in the episodes. The makers of this DVD don't understand one thing; the watcher/listener doesn't care if the audience is laughing or not. That's what makes comedy special; it's dependant on the individual. I've seen comedy shows where I'm the only one laughing and that makes it more special. What a terrible decision that is terribly implemented. Anyway, that being said, the 90 minute bonus footage is awesome. There is no added laugh track and a lot of the material featured as bonus footage is better than the material found in the episodes. To me, this makes it worth the $1 I spent on this (it's maybe even worth $10) and is the only redeeming part of this package. So that's what you get; 6 horribly edited episodes with a sub-par host and artificial audience reaction with 90 minutes of awesome bonus material. What else can I say?
