The Italian label Inpsyde Media has released some great albums, like Frequency Surfer and the Promon album. Here they are out with an album by Mukunga Umbura, which is the debut album by Gil Mahadeva from Brazil. The cover art on this CD is really nice. The first track is a heavy rolling track with groovy rhythms and jumping psychedelic sounds. You also get some voice samples and a drifting, dark melody. Track 2 is more stumpy, but still groovy and pretty dark. I wouldn’t call this morning trance. The sounds and melodies in this one remind me a lot of GMS. Track 3 is my favourite track on this album. The beats are still groovy, and we get more melodies. The melodies are drifting and funny. Nice one. Track 4 is harder and more pumping, with darker melody. Pretty cool drifting track. Track 5 is even heavier. Less melodic, but still with jumping psychedelic sounds. It sort of builds up. Perfect if you want some full on night stumpers. Track 6 is a really heavy full on track. Some GMS alike melodies, noisy psychedelic sounds and a pumping groove. Track 7 has a voice sample that says grandfather peyote, full on rhythms and a dark vibe. In the middle of the track we get some kind of tribal rhythms and voices which is pretty cool. Track 8 starts pumping from beginning to end. Some weird psychedelic sounds and voice samples jumps in and out of the track. Totally full on drifting trance. Track 9 has some really dark, rough rhythms. Definitely the darkest track on this album. He has also put in a voice sample of Goa Gil in this track. The last track is a chilled down tempo track, with relaxing speed, but still almost the same full on sounds. If you are into full on night time style, you should check this out, but it could have been a bit more varied. Some people say this is full on morning trance, but personally I think it fits best at night. The Frequency Surfer album was more melodic, and this is darker with less melodies. Gil Mahadeva is definitely an upcoming talented artist in the Brazilian psytrance scene, who we will definitely hear more from in the future.
