As a huge fan of the original Soul on Ice Album, i bought this release with some hopes of unreleased demo stuff etc.. there could be more demo stuff on this from the times around Soul on Ice, and i dont know whey Ras didnt put this onto the record. But the main reasons you should buy this record for, is the OG "jack frost" version (from the Test pressing), and a well done finessed version of "Anything goes" which gives the song a very nice smooth touch throughout the track. never was a huge fan of anything goes, but this version sounds great, imo. Props to Felony for the remix !! the "on earth as it is.." remix is also interesting, but with a newer touch. personally i think ras should have left off the last song from the vinyl "i lost heaven" which is a new track. it just doesnt fit to the rest of the albums content, as Ras voice and style is so completely different on this one. The CD has some interesting interludes and stuff, but doesnt have much i am hype for. especially if you own the 12"es from the first 2 albums, you dont really need this... the last song "unity show" has a nice beat tho... i just wished to have more great rare tracks from the demo times on the release.. especially "everything i love"!!! or "blood is thicker than water". the cover art and style of the records (i have the splattered version) are amazing and the sound is dope aswell... this is for the real ras kass fans or if you just dont have the OG album, but even then, i would recommend to buy the OG album, as it is what it is.. a pure classic and very veeery special album from the 90s. peace, dj skeli (NoTvRaps)
