this is actually official. UK versions came out a bit later, and were all unnumbered. The artwork was reversed, and the labels were changed to color pictures. According to King, the UK editions had a better mastering job, and therefore sound better to the official, numbered US editions. No UK CDs or cassettes were ever issued. These were issued in a limited, but unknown, quantity.

All I can tell you is that I was given this version of the record in 1989 by a friend who worked at Blast First Records. He also gave me some promos, and a few other things, over his time there. Maybe it was an initial promo version, before the retail ones were made. Maybe got the picture the wrong way first time? Maybe just did this so they'd be recognisable. Only speculating about that, but mine came directly from Blast First, not any sale, so that's probably the source of all of them. I commented on this on the other version long before this version was added to the database. Mine has no inserts, like the other version is said to have. That the 'not' label page shows other releases, also by Blast First bands, that are 'unofficial', and that the there is no 'Latino Bugger Veil' catalog number on this one also suggests that it was made for promo reasons, or initial pressings for inside the label and for the band, etc. Basically made within the record company for some purpose, but not for sale, probably before the larger pressing of the actual sale version.

Don't konw about that, but NOT4(BUT 5) is apparently a spin on Sonic Youth Not 1 (But 2)--which was probably a spin on something else ;-)

I have a version that was given to me by someone at Blast First Records in London in 1989 and has a mirror image of the cover. Also no inserts.

If your copy has a mirror image of the cover it is a unique release and you should submit it to the database instead of making a comment. Cheers

The best 'Butthole Surfers' Live album on double vinyl ! ! !This LP is outstanding. The recording is very good and the concert itself must have been amazing to see live. It contains many of their early notable tracks as well as an REM cover ('The One I Love', Track B5) which is obviously a classic in its own right.John E. Smoke live on Vinyl is one of the funniest songs i've enjoyed over the years in my collection. I love this double LP set. It also came out on CD but obviously since i only review vinyl this is the one i'd recommend.

You get 10 more songs on the cd version - so that's the one I recommend.
