crazy mashine
As previous reviewer has noted, forget about the A mixes which were probably intended to be chart friendly fodder. The flip however is a whole different world of dark frenetic acid jack. Get involved.

Side A of this release was fun when it first appeared on the scene but unfortunately hasn't really stood the test of time. It's of those times and admittedly a good pure nostalgia piece. Think of a pseudo acid house cover version of the classic 'Pump Up The Volume'. To be fair, it didn't crossover to the mainstream and stayed underground but it does sound like it was perhaps attempting to follow suit of oufits such as MARRS / Bomb The Bass / S'Express / Simon Harris etc who popularised this sound during the late 1980s. In fact, that particular sound was already becoming tired by late 1988. The real underground tracks are on side B if one happens to appreciate the more obscure, original Chicago acid influenced sounds. Hypnotic, stripped down and squelchy with subtle atmospheric pads making an appearance on occasion. Both mixes are a variation of each other. (Acid 1/Ecstasy Mix) consists of slightly more vocal samples dotted inside the mix.
