This is a good sampler for those wishing to convert their Chris & Cosey vinyl to CD at minimal expense. It includes a nice chunk of material from their very danceable 'Exotica' and 'Trust' albums. However, nothing is perfect, this release included: 1) Track 1-02 is a pretty flimsy short version of this song. The original 12" version, at 7+ minutes, is IMHO the best thing C&C have EVER done, and would easily warrant the cost of this 2-CD set by itself; the short version here, however, has some annoying additional production, and just destroys the flow of the original. Not to mention that the 12" version continues to be only that -- still not available anywhere on CD!!! 2) The release is packaged in a -- again, "flimsy" is the best word -- all-paper digipack. Whenever I'm sliding the CDs out of their "pockets," I'm freaking out that they'll get scratched or slide out too fast and fall on the floor. Whoever decided to package this without proper plastic trays should be SHOT!

Yeah, it's too bad that this is the official CD release to feature "Obsession" in any form. It's also odd, to me, that "Rise" is nowhere to be found here. Licensing difficulties of some sort, perhaps?
