For a while now, I've wondered about a release listed in Schwann (from at least the mid 80s to early 90s) for which I can find no other info, with "w. Lester Moran, Cadillac Cowboy" given as the title along with a catalog number of 826-266-1 and 826-266-4 for LP and cassette respectively. While this catalog number falls in with the sequence used for mid 80s reissues of the Statler back catalog, I find no evidence that a release exists with said number. The only other album that cryptic description could belong to would be "Country Music Then & Now", which is 826-260-1/4.So, I suspect that Alive At The Johnny Mack Brown High School was slated for reissue along with the rest of the albums but was cancelled.

Everyone reading this knows this band is really The Statler Brothers having a goof, yes? I see on YootOob that there's a playlist for Lester and the 'Boys' complete works, extending much longer than this album, including an interview with Ralph Emery on WSM-AM (!), so my guess is that there must have been be a single or double CD compilation album released of their work Information on and a discographical listing here for it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check this out (it's filed under The Statlers):http://www.discogs.com/Statler-Brothers-The-Complete-Lester-Roadhog-Moran-And-The-Cadillac-Cowboys/release/6489725It has the whole Alive... LP as well as the radio show that appeared on The Statlers' Country Music Then & Now LP and some bonuses. It stayed in print for ages but apparently wasn't a strong seller. A little digging can turn up a copy at a decent price, though.Hope this helps!
