Sounds amazing! Clean flat pressing. Dynamic with a nice soundstage. This one was done right!

The Enhanced part of the cd contains the "Shadowboxer" music video. Just thought I should share that with all of you.

One of my best sounding records. This is a permanent fixture in my collection going forward. wastes of plastic that flood the shelves of record stores these days but this lp is just O.K.I bought it completely based on the reviews here because i've been disappointed so many timesby new releases and at 30 to 40$ a pop i just can't afford the new stuff anymore. If you think that a "flat and quiet" lp is something to celebrate then i guess we should praiseVMP for making a flat record and buying a large bin of quality little plastic pebbles that they then meltto make lp's with. other than that this record is nowhere near as good as it should have been.i hope that someone who knows what they are doing does this amazing piece of music justicesomeday and commit it to vinyl so it sounds like a record and not like file.i really don't know why i can play any one of thousands of vintage albums and they all sound like recordsand none of the new ones ever do, no sizzle, no edge, no life, no soul.

Um lol? Say what? Maybe it's time you invest in a new cartridge because this is one of the best sounding records I've ever heard.

Mate i have no idea what you are talking about?? this album sounds voluptuous and bold on this press! This is exactly what a fiona apple record should sound like (probably why it was approved by epic). Are you expecting the polyvinyl chloride to be made out of gold or something instead of plastic?

this really sounds amazing... VMP did a great thing when they decided double 45. My only complain is the jacket is super snug and it was already getting rings, so Ive just put the records in their own generic jackets - dont want the beautiful photos to be ruined. A+

Absolutely wonderful pressing. Sound quality is exceptional, vinyl flat with no surface noise, and high quality packaging (if just a bit bulky). Great job by VMP!

I've been hoping this would receive an official release on vinyl, and it finally happened. The fact this has not officially been on vinyl before is a travesty. This VMP pressing is 100% quality, and an amazing addition to my collection. Hearing Shadowboxer on vinyl for the first time gave me goosebumps.

Just bought my copy straight from VMN for $29. Why would anyone pay $90 for this release?

Zovaithug
don't you have to be a member to buy? And being a member is not cheap, plus outside the US is more expensive. Maybe not worth $90 now but certainly more than $29

VMP kills it again with this release. This album is lovingly mastered from the original sources and sounds better than it ever has. It was absolutely foolish of Sony to never have issued this on vinyl in the first place, but from soundstage to packaging, this album finally has the LP variant it truly deserves. It's a shame that vinyl-exploiting vanity labels like SRCvinyl, Plain Recordings, Music On Vinyl and Enjoy The Ride Records don't put anywhere near the care or attention to detail into their pressings the way VMP does.

MOV does not "opt to digitally remaster even if given analog sources." This is categorically untrue.

What a wonderful decision VMP made to cut this as a double 45. All that added detail, amplitude and dynamic range you can really feel. Simply stunning. AAA audiophile release all the way. VMP - please give us more in this format!

Another example of an exceptional album being bulked into a needless, four-sided, two-LP set. Total run time is 00:51:30. This could easily be put on three sides and etch the fourth.Prime example: https://www.discogs.com/Swell-Season-Strict-Joy/release/2094116Current structure:Side 1: 00:13:26Side 2: 00:11:37Side 3: 00:14:54Side 4: 00:11:33Total run time: 00:51:30I'd rather take light compression for a single disc or listen to the CD.

Why in the world would you PREFER compression? That's so opposite of my feelings that I cannot possibly understand your point of view. Superior audio quality over stupid crap like an etched 4th side every single time please. Any extra fidelity gained by stretching albums onto more wax is absolutely worth it. With 3 sides, you're already switching discs. Is that much of a pain to make a second flip? I feel somewhat cheated when a disc that I put on doesn't have a second side for me to listen to. You sound like a CD listener regardless, if you'd prefer compression to making a simple second flip. Seems like you just want the vinyl for something to look at like an etched side.

I feel that way about some albums (why stretched to 4 sides) but after hearing how good this pressing sounds, I have to say it was worth the flippin' fuss!

Why tf would you want an "etched D-side" when you could have this beautiful album at 45 rpm on four sides of quality vinyl? Have you even bothered to listen to how amazing this sounds across two LPs? You probably sold yours for double the price the moment it arrived.Etched D-sides are as USELESS as colored vinyl variants. Get a taste.

Ferri - My name
Fiona's team specifically wanted the release to be as close in resemblance to the CD as it would have been originally released in the 90s. An etched Side D would have contradicted that ethic.

Completely agree with artiecrisp, I would much rather flip the record once more and have this perfect audiophile pressing. Dead quiet, incredible dynamics and soundstage. VMP absolutely killed it on this one.

that's cool, you're in the minority tho, most folks would prefer the superior audio quality.

So I had a unique experience with the VMP records. Played Side 1 and it sounded great. So much depth and detail I had never heard before. Then my son flipped the album and it sounded like we were listening to the Chipmunks Christmas album. We looked at each other. Wrong speed. We tried it at 33 RPM. It was music. But it wasn't Fiona. A quick Shazam, and we found out I have Nick Lowe on my Side 2. Anyone else have this problem???

Yeah, I contacted VMP and they said only one other customer has reported the problem.

The records sound great, side C has a bit of pops and clicks but nothing too distracting. The outer sleeve is a bit tight and getting the records in is a bit annoying, otherwise the packaging is nice. The booklet isn't 12"x12", it's just a little under 10".

Tidal is a classic, one of my all-time favorite albums since the day it was released. I signed up to Vinyl Me Please just so I could ensure I received a copy. After giving the album (both LPs) a full spin I can breathe a sigh of relief - QUALITY PRESSING! No surface noise, excellent mastering, no warping, excellent packaging, nice hefty 180gram black vinyl. An album like Tidal deserved the right vinyl treatment and Vinyl Me Please delivered a homerun. What a treasure.

Blown away by the sound quality on this record. Practically no surface noise on my copy, deep lows, and a high end that is clear as day. I'm so impressed I hope we get more 45 black 180g rereleases from VMP in the future.
