The second side of this album really shows Sonic Youth at their very best..departing from a standard indie-rock/post-hardcore/no wave sound and displaying a much stronger influence from Mozart and the use of more subtle/tranquil passages presented here on tracks "B1" and "B3" offer the most developed song writing they would ever achieve

My copy does NOT end in a lock groove. Is it standard for this NL release?

I strongly believe that the catalog number is DGCMD 24513.

An Ok pressing, some surface noise but nothing unbearable. Been told that the 2015 repress (on the band's Goofin label) is better.

Do all versions have the Death to Our "Freinds" typo on the back of jacket?.Well I just checked and the pink SST release has "Friends" written on the back

This version sounds really good for a lofi remaster. I had the 2010 pink marble issue but it was plagued with surface noise, this black version is much better in my opinion, same As the ORG

I have three pressings of this release(SST, Blast First, and the pink ORG 043). The 1986 SST edition sounds the best to me. I think this is their best album. It's a great mix of avantgrade and song structure. An SST classic!

Does this version come w/ the insert w/ lyrics and drawings?

This is essentially a repress of the more expensive ORG reissue using the same plates.

At least on mine, the lock groove sounds distinctly lower fi than the rest of the record. I don't remember that from way back, but maybe the originals were like that. Or, maybe they had to take a needledrop as they didn't have the lock groove audio on the mastertape. I dunno. All of these formerly ORG Goofin releases sound really great. This is a good time for SY vinyl.

I got an SST-059 copy with a barcode on the back of the sleeve. The barcode isn't printed in a typical white box though, it's just directly overlaid like all the text. Original sleeve variation perhaps? I thought about adding its own entry but the deadwax indicates it's the exact same as an original.

If it has a barcode on the back then it’s a repress.

I had a promo version of this album that I bought from either Groucho's in Dundee or by mail order. It was single sided with complete picture sleeve. It included a large poster and possibly a press sheet. Like a fool I sold it around 10 years ago, so I cannot give any more details... But it is out there, somewhere!

I'm weirdly interested in knowing if the album was ever reunited with its original owner...

I wonder if that's the copy i have. I picked one of these up from Missing in Glasgow around 2002 or 2003. I've not heard of another copy.
