Mix bag on this Lp less of the older disco sampling and looping and more interesting programming. You can tell a Gemini tune still and you always find yourself waiting for that little twist or the little spike in the track. His ability to knock out these melodies is staggering. Still play "At The Cafe" with its dreamy sexy almost Egyptian feel to it. The bassline is simple but really progressive with a almost double bass strum to it. I would say there is a little bit for the purists and somethings the new fans will enjoy. Overall not his greatest works but worthy of any shelf space in the finest of collections.

Seriously underrated release by Gemini. This edition also sanctioned by Cyclo, as per the sticker on my copy.

I'm getting old since all the time I notice I'm wondering who're paying these prices. Ugh. This Gemini album, some years ago, was in the bargain bin in many stores and online retailers. Since then I don't know what happened. Maybe it's the sheer mystery what happened to Gemini that is pushing the prices. Or maybe he became hipster cool recently. Or then people with pockets full of cash found him. I just don't know. What I find troubling is that this is very much average house album. Nothing stands out. With a great album you have the peaks and valleys. This album, I don't hate it but I don't love it either. It's playing safe. And here's another old-men-speaking cliché: his older productions are better. No, really, they are. Not just because they are rare or sought after, they are musically better and interesting to listen to. Of course I'm reflecting my own preferences but I find it hard to believe that this would be that great album to spend dozens of bucks, euros, or yens. Hey, maybe this became a collectors' item when I was becoming a grumpy old man. But that doesn't mean it would be musically that special. Or does it, nowadays?

It's basic suply and demand really, no rocket science here, some people want it, fewer people sell it, price goes up. It has nothing to do with the quality of the music, wich is by the way at the discretion of everyone's own appreciation.
