Der Deutsche Adel is the name of a band who made their first and last untitled LP album issued in 1984 in France although it has been recorded in Dusseldorf, Germany. What kind of music is this exactly: coldwave, goth rock, postpunk? Being supposed that any musical distinction of this kind should be useful, my opinion is the music performed there is outstanding all way long: the sound of this band was straight, quite pure and so noble. The songs are talking about war and its own nonsense, about fear to be killed and hopefulness: the melancholy of the music leads any listener to experience what musical beauty really is. Six songs only, the total duration of the whole album is twenty three minutes approximately: actually, how a great music making it was there! Many people who were twenty years old in the eighties certainly did not pay attention enough to "Der Deutsche Adel" and their music; i believe this is not fair: this band did desserve quite a fame and success and had them not. A couple of years later, Leon Kieven and Jiri Douda joined a band called "Montanablue" and they made quite a few beautiful recordings. Whatever, the fact is "Der Deutsche Adel" LP is one of my very most favourite records and my daily bread in music which makes me feel what beauty is actually supposed to mean. Thank you for reading this review.
