One of their best albums as it had lots of strange instrumentation and some electronic echoes and such to make it seem spacey and different. Exploiting some new recording technics was one of the purposes of this album. It would have been better had they gone more experimental. Space age batchelor pad tunes of the 50's. Great cover art.

Hi I discovered this website by searching for this album. I do not want to add more confusion, but my late father had this album. I remember that it definately had Greensleeves on it but my favourite track was called Telstar. This may be another release which was only in South Africa, it was mono and a very high quality reproduction for vinyl. Is there anyone who can provide me with more info? Thanks

I've updated all three LPs in this confusing mangle of releases. There were two LPs on Westminster Records called "Soundproof," one mono and one stereo. Each had the same cover art, but completely different contents. To add to the confusion, a mono version of the stereo "Soundproof" was released with different cover art and cat# under the title "Soundblast."

Is something completely wrong here? My copy of Soundproof by Ferrante and Teicher have none of the tracks listed here? Instead they are: A Peg-leg, Brazil, Poinciana, Mama yo quero, Orchids in the moonlight, Cumana, B Tico-Tico, Frenesi, Mexican hat dance, Siboney, Loose ends merengue, La cucaracha.Cover are totally the same as shown here but it is the stereo issue WST 15011.Anyone got a clue? I would say be shure what you buy!Best regards

you have Soundblast by Ferrante & Teicher, I think they were companion lps, both contain completely different tracks. The covers are similar i.e. an imagined planet in space. My vinyl copy of Soundblast is WP6041.

i have the same track listing as you gerolsteiner, with the first as "peg-leg merengue", though a different catalogue number, wp 107, for a mono issue from 1961the cover is essentially the same, with a whitish strip across the top above the blue planet, with cat. no., ferrante and teicher, and the westminster hi-fi logothe back also credits associated recordings in dean st., london
