Listening to this record is unlike listening to anything else. It's a chose your own adventure. Most loops are progressive additions to the previous, so you can build up and take away the sounds at your preference. While listening, I became intimately familiar with my turntable, feeling the needle sliding from groove to groove, watching the headshell sway and bob with each loop.I had this album on CD for many years and loved it. Experiencing it again in this format was visceral and immensely enjoyable. I have utmost respect for Jochem Paap for the talent (and the balls) it took to release an entire album in the form of easily sampleable loops. It feels like a gift.Speaking of sampling, there is a note on the back of the album sleeve that reads (in caps):"ATTENTION! ANYONE SAMPLING THESE LOOPS PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE ENOUGH TO SEND A COPY OF YOUR FINISHED TRACK TO novamute 429 HARROW RD LONDON W10 4RE"

After buying the Loudboxer CD album, I was searching for various tracks from the album on vinyl and came across the double vinyl pack we have here, and what a find it was! An absolute MUST for DJs and producers alike, the 200 loops available to use for your own pleasure are 100% Techno gold! The locked grooves contain a small part of each track on the album, with everything from the swirly soundscapes right through to the pounding, mechanical stuff that you know are going to give the speakers a good workout. Speedy J has given the fans the ultimate opportunity here by giving access to the core of his album, and allowing us to re-create it in any way we see fit. I love the fact that I can add that extra bit of oomph into a mix by dropping in one of the loops, instantly giving it an extra layer of techno squelch! The only fault I can think of is that due to the number of loops on the LP, and the fact that the designer decided to use a font that is a nightmare to read it can be pretty hard to find the name of the loop you are playing, but thats not really a major problem. All in all though, if youre a fan of Loudboxer then you really should hunt this down for your collection.

I'm curious what version you own if you only have 12 grooves per side. I own a copy of this and it most definitely has 50 grooves per side. Just sat and counted because your comment had me left wondering.

I own this record and I counted the loops... there is nowhere close to 200.i only see about 25 per record (12 or so per side).nothing about being skeptical. i would love to see pics of yours if they have more than that!!!

Why would you assume there is no way that there are 50 loops per side of a record? What makes you such a skeptic?Myself included, there are hundreds upon hundreds of people that I know personally that own a copy of this record, which means there are thousands across this continent who have it as well. My conclusion being, yes, there are 200 loops across these two records. Look it up, you can pick this one up for next to nothing these days. Enjoy it, man :-D

I dont agree with that it is 100% dj-friendly. Although it has a wide variety so that its hard to remember which groove to choose, it is impossible (if not using samplers) to mix parts of a tune because they simply come ordered on record so mixing 2 discs just to play with is not that fun as it could be.I recon that if all loops were randomly spread that would be so much more groundbreaking. Nevertheless it still is.
