Qucid
"Call Me Lightning" is a much-underrated Who song. It's intelligent, where "Magic Bus" is just plain stupid. And leave it to Entwhistle to pen a song about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The Who covered a lot of strange subjects, usually via Entwhistle. "Boris the Spider" may be the best of Entwhistle's madness, and he continued his odd material right up to the comic "My Wife". Townsend had a similar bent, with the early "I'm a Boy" and "Pictures of Lily", which is a thinly veiled ode to masturbation. But "Call Me Lightning" is pretty much straight-forward pop, with the singer bragging about his sexual prowess. One of the best of the early Who material.
