I've only just discovered this and what an amazing find - i also love dub reggae and Pink Floyd (I suppose a lot of people do) And with Pink Floyd being the act probably most synonymous with chill out all the way back to the playing of Echoes at Spectrum in the London Acid House scene of 1988 (the first chill out room anywhere?).this would seem like a match made in heaven. Sometimes however ideas that look good on paper don't always come off but this most defintely doesn't just work but exceeded my expectations in every way. I also like decent trance and this will be a very different but equally enjoyed relative to my trance versions of DSOTM.

I love Pink Floyd and I love Dub. But i hate cover albums and i don't like most crossover dub productions. But Easy Star All Stars fixed it and i am listening to this album for more then ten years, flipping it with the original version sometimes. Its interesting to compare those two albums with each other, cause you will see how much space is left in the original production. And Easy Star Allstars used this space to enrich the original tracks with additional voicings, for example the great Ranking Joe toasting on "Time". This is the ultimate fusion of the beloved Pink Floyd style and the wild powerful style of Reggae music. Its obvious why a lot of people are searching for this record. If you ever come across it - buy it!

I have the Black version of this LP, but the cover has "Limited Collector's Edition Colored Vinyl" across the top. A misprint perhaps?

Yes definitely the chill-out version of Pink Floyd, but one with lots and lots of character. I am generally skeptical of remixing classic songs/albums, especially where it is basically a change of genre, but here the Easy Star All-Stars excel and produce a fantastically psychedelic dub blend that loses nothing of the original and gains a new depth. Beautiful.

Here is something pretty different. A remix album of the classic Pink Floyd album, Dark Side Of The Moon! That's pretty psychedelic music, and since this is dub remixes, this will for sure fit right into a chill out set. Easy Star All-Stars is a group of several reggae artists with a strong connection to Jamaican music. They are based in New York, where their label Easy Star Records is based. They give us the Dub Side Of The Moon… I'm not going into details in this review, but in this album you get mostly deep dub rhythms with a lot of reggae vocals, with all the classic Pink Floyd guitar ingredients mixed in. You will for sure recognise the tracks while listening to it. They have also added some more sounds and samples. A cool album to surprise your Pink Floyd loving friends with, or put into a chill out set. Some tracks is a bit more electronic than others, like track 2 that is influenced a little bit by drum 'n' bass. Some people might think the reggae vocals get a bit over the top, but it is for sure chilling. Personally I enjoyed this album a lot and I think it's pretty funny at the same time as it's pretty good dub music. For sure an album I will play several times in the future. Check it out if you want some extra spice to your chilled moments.
