"Easy" to put the sound of rain in an album, but the snow one, so light ? First time I was comparing as I do not with my stupidity.Maybe Rigning will stay as my favorite as first discover and so incredibly realistic. But here I see me walking in Tundra. Here things are colder. Maybe more a challenge for Yagya to work on snow.∆lsome. As far as the price that they go for. I don't understand why the cd goes for 5 times or more than what the vinyl asks for. The vinyl should be worth more. I'm sure this will change. IMO this release is better than Waiting for Snow by Benisch. Which had similar price inflation.Very good release though. Not excellent. Passed buying the cd in 2004 racks for $18 bucks because I had it on vinyl. If I didnt have it I would pay up to $150 bucks but no more. Lol For the track Snowflake 6. Amazing to me

I agree with Moanerman comment here. The price for this particular CD is 15 times over the top. While collecting music (8 years), I stumble upon this CD for 4 times and all of them there under $10 in local NY record stores. I sold them all on Ebay for higher price - around $40 each. But $500 and up is indeed the ridicules price.

Yagya became very popular now days. This is explains why this CD is so damn expensive. His second album on Sending Orbs is even more expensive to buy. Third one is out of stock too. So expect high sky prices very soon. The music is good on all of them though. But this is the nature of the market. If artist became very popular,1000 copies are nothing. Look at BoC. They LP Records are very expensive, and I am sure they were pressed in bigger quantities.

Yagya's debut album is pretty much worth it's own weight in gold as far as i'm concerned. Hypnotic, ethereal, out-of-this-world dub techno. Sure, Rigning and Will I Dream In The Process are certainly no pushovers, but I do believe that this album is Yagya's best work to date. All 10 tracks are simply labeled as "SnowFlake" which allows the listener to conjure up his or her own atmosphere and image of the track. This album may clock in at almost 80 minutes, but it seems to just fly by whenever I listen to this masterpiece. If you can find it for sale, don't let the price tag scare you... This one is worth hunting down.

Many reviews of this beautiful album compare Yagya and Gas, Yagya and Basic Channel, Yagya and Markus Guentner; this is only half of the truth. Only minimalistic approach to electronic sound can put them together, in some undefined way (Guentner's track "In Moll #3" sounds like it continues Yagya's snowy dream). This is incredible album. I have listened to it more than 1000 times, and it still shows unique identity and powerful attraction. If I would need to point at one release similar to "Rhythm of Snow", it would be Voigt's "Konigsforst" - but only in the manner of persistent variety of 'monoatmosphere' that carries the listener away, again and again. Ambient techno lovers must not miss this CD. As I read in one net-magazine, in 2005 he will return with his new album "Will I Dream During The Process". That's sure going to be one of the most expected releases in the incoming period!

Much has been said about yagya and the Rhythm of Snow, all of which i agree upon. The highlight of this album is Snowflake 6 which stands to a climax in the story. Snowflake 10, as mentioned a variation/remix of 6, is the denouement. Many nostalgic feelings seem to be placed here. Unlike the sense of smell which has the power to recall specific moments and events in time, the soundscapes created within put me in a place. Title influenced, i stand shallow in tall stark snowcovered fields feeling the weight of white, but i'm constantly being lifted by the contrast of subtlies turned overt by the produced environment. If i had one word to descrbe Rhythm Of Snow, it would be spiritual.

Put simply, this is some of the most perfect and beautiful music I have ever heard. Tracks 1, 2 and 6 are especially good. Its a wonder this wasnt released on Mille Plateaux, such is the ambient content of this album. Granted each track on here has a 4/4 kick drum rhythm, but it still kind of seems a bit out of place surrounded by the more dancefloor oriented output that is the rest of Force Inc. NB - Track 10 sounds to me like a remix of Track 6. It has the exact same chord patterns.

Have you been looking for the perfect cd to listen to while you work or download music? Yagya's "Rhytm of Snow" is the perfect album to waste time to. It's very soothing and ethereal. I've found myself listening to this album quite a lot lately. Highly recommended ambient minimalism.
