Ildefonso Aguilar is an artist and musician based in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. In keeping with his art, which is stunning in its minimal simplicity, so is his music. As his chief influence in electronic music was with the German school of composers like Edgar Froese, Conrad Schnitzler or Klaus Schulze, he went to Germany to record his sole LP in a German studio with German electronics. It has to be one of the spookiest, most enigmatic of albums, with the barest amount of melody and the most understated of rhythmic elements, like a mist on the Lanzarote volcanic ash, it's mesmerising. The original LP was never a brilliant pressing though, especially for such fragile music, but still the brilliance shines through. The CD issue of this was largely different and/or extended mixes, and so different in fact that it's well worth having both!Ildefonso was later known as a promoter of ambient music events in the volcanic caves of Lanzarote at which people like Brian Eno, H.J. Roedelius and others played.
