Two lush sounding pieces of early, atmospheric jungle here, both of which would have sounded perfect in a DJ Rap set back in the day. 'Gangster Lean' opens with sweeping strings and an oriental sounding keyboard melody coupled with 'we're jungle brothers, man' vocal samples. The breaks are stepping, but uncomplicated as is the bassline. A simple track complimented by clever use of samples.'Gangster Lean' is backed up with the even lusher sounding 'Treat Me Right', which has even more soaring strings, a booming bassline, amens and machine gun snares. Male sighing sounds and a Beastie Boys 'Mmmmm drop!' sample just adds the cherry on top of an already perfect track. This was featured on the Jumpin 'N' Pumpin', 'Jungle Tekno Volume 3' compilation in 1994 and was mislabelled as being 'Gangster Lean', whereas on my vinyl copy of this (and on Youtube) it's labelled vice versa, so if anyone can confirm whether this is correct, or I've got an incorrectly labelled copy then that would be grand!

re; the mislabelling. I think you are correct. I thought Treat Me Right was the one with the Beastie Boys sample. And Gangsta Lean was the darker tune with the Jungle Brothers sample. That is how my vinyl is labelled up.And that's how I labelled them on a mix I just posted a week or so back: http://drumtrip.co.uk/mixes/law-deep-jungle-vol-6/Would be good if someone could somehow confirm, as my OCD for tune names means I would have to immediately edit my track list :D
