I agree with DiscoM78 and still wonder why the fake review of music-ranger is still up. Looks like it has been converted to english with google translator or anything like that.Everyone who has a copy of the so called "Deluxe Edition" clearly knows about the problems of that release.Vinyl rips are probably acceptable in eastern Europe, but there's still some people out there who demand real (master tape) quality, which you don't get with this release.Vinyl rips, filtered sound, early fades (e.g. Born To Kill, which misses the end of the Guitar Solo on this CD...) are just a few to name.Hopefully somebody will unearth the original tapes someday and do it better!

Scotch – Evolution: finally after 30 years until premiere date this spectacular Italo-Disco gem was re-released first time ever on CD! This album may also be named “Greatest Hits” of Scotch – it would be even better description than Evolution. Some of track like Disco Band, Take Me Up, Delirio Mind were hit charts songs very popular those days in whole Europe or even worldwide. Some of tracks were not very popular but songs like Born to Kill, Loosing in Time or Primitive Man have even much “Italo – feeling” than the others and Loosing in Time is my personal favorite track of Scotch ever.On this brilliant deluxe reedition we also have find lots of bonuses. From Penguins Invasion – the first ever released track by Scotch (formally this track is not album track) and some barely pressed on CD remixes like Delirio Mind (Remix) or Take Me Up (Disco Mix), to previously unreleased on CD tracks like fantastic Swedish Remix of Disco Band and Loving is Easy / Evolution in Swedish Reedit. The last track of reviewed CD is Mastermix also first time ever released on CD. The last three tracks are remixed by famous remixer from Sweden – Mr. Fredrik Ramel.Few words about quality of this Deluxe CD Music re-release. The CD is packed to Super Jewel Case box and looks very distinguish… In the box we have beautiful 8 pages glossy paper booklet in which we may find lots of rare unpublished pictures before – like very first picture of Scotch ever taken in Scotch’s rehearsal room during Penguins Invasion recording session. Reproduction of covers to all Scotch singles and some additional information. The front cover is very colorful looks like a fairy tale. The on disc print is very modest but also impressive. You may also notice one more thing also deserves to treat this CD as deluxe. No unnecessary logos of sponsors, distributors, radios, shops, etc.! Just an album polygraphs in their pure form! Unexpected thing these days.Music quality point of view. Well – the album sound very consistently, very powerful, very detailed. All songs were mastered from original master recordings, with musical feeling – sound very “analogues”. The one of my favorites is Losing in Time – dark sounding classic Italo track, but also Born to Kill is a real killer. I didn’t notice any issues connected with the track “versions”. I have had to compare vinyl pressing made by ByN (Spain), ZYX (DE) and original AMD (IT) pressing. All the versions are exactly the same – the main difference is that they sounds very poor compare to Deluxe CD Music re-release. So you don’t take care any “hate speech” about this re-release - everything is in place here, every single detail is the same as on original edition.To sum up: this re-release is worth every penny spent for it. I don’t have in my hands similar quality release within last few years especially on Italo Disco field but even in general. I wish myself to buy more from this Label and I’m also highly recommended Scotch – Evolution (Deluxe Edition) to you!

Scotch-Evolution is a great italo-disco album and one of my all-time favorites! I sent an email years ago requesting ZYX to release this album on CD. Now it seems it has got an official release on CD after all! So how about the quality of this release?The tracks previously released on the 'Best Of Scotch' compilation and possibly also 'Born to kill' sound like they have been mastered from original master tapes. The sound on those tracks are identical with those on that compilation except for some EQ adjustments on a few tracks that makes them sound somewhat better and closer to the original (the same digital master has probably been used here). It's also not as overly loud as many other recent CD's that ruin the dynamics but it's still unnecessarily loud though I think!Unfortunately there are also a couple of problems with this release (I'm focusing on the original album tracks here) that could have been avoided with just a little more effort. At the beginning of Komburn it sounds like the sort of thing you get when you let the declicking filter of your vinyl repair software run automatically. So basically it removes the 'click-sounds' on the kick drum (whether or not that is the reason here). It's only on the first 13 seconds and then it abruptly sounds fine so it's clear that this is a fault on this release. The other problem are at the faded ending of 'Loosing in time' where the ending has been looped in a way that does not match the original (you hear the open hi-hat too often).Claiming to be a Deluxe Edition with "High Quality Sound" this is not the sort of thing one would expect. I still think there's an opportunity for ZYX or anyone else who has the master tape to correct these errors and make a final release of this album!

It's not true. You compared here two totally different mixes of Delirio Mind. Louder = better in this case. Memorize this before you write such incompetence comments. Silent sounding CDs = bad, poorly sounding CDs. Why? Look aroud - uncle google may helps.

But maybe in Russia you've bought pirate release of this briliant re-release with some pirate limitations or just you write your judgement based form pirate downloaded files as always there in Russia. Very sad but nobody can help you. Change climte, take a breath and maybe your sense of hearing will back. Hopefully.

In case of Scotch I think the problem is that ZYX (mostly) didn't use the master that was used to make the LP but rather masters that was intended for the 12” singles, I believe. These sound worse than the LP imo! I have the Beat Box LP by the way and that's what I refer to as the original in my review. I assumed the different LP's would sound about the same!A compilation that might be of interest to Scotch collectors or even to a label that are serious about making a proper release of this album is this https://www.discogs.com/Various-Rewind-Italo-Vol-1/release/895129 It has the original LP version of 'Disco Band' contrary to the Deluxe CD that made their own edit of the 12” version that's on the 'Best of Scotch' compilation! If you listen carefully at about 13 seconds into this real LP version you hear an analog tape cut and a faint echo of the “ehrmmm” vocal (that's on the 12” version). Deluxe CD made the cut at a different place and hence the echo isn't there. The track is essentially the same but it proves that Deluxe CD didn't use the LP master. So at least 12INC label had access to a different source back in 1997. Unfortunately it was at the beginning of the loudness wars and the levels are about the same as the Deluxe CD.As I said in the review the 'Best of Scotch' masters was probably used since they match sample by sample when comparing them in the editor! That master would have been 20 bit at most, if they didn't just rip the 16-bit CD (can't say for sure in this case). In any case the '32-bit remastered' statement is false marketing I think. ZYX had a "20-bit remastered" statement on for example 'Italo 2000 - Rarities' which I believe is true. And it makes more sense to refer to the resolution on the source rather than the software! I agree that the software should work with floating-point so it won't introduce unnecessary round-off errors, but if you only use 16-bit as source then round-off errors can't be avoided, even if you only make a simple volume change!

This remaster has less dynamic range and sounds to aggressive and finally unnatural against the original of 80s.E.g. Delirio Mind Album Rmx: DR10; RMS-11.55; Peak-0.27 ... compared against the mix on "The Italo Disco Connection" (4807670) (not the album mix but diff is only edit) its DR12; RMS-15.31; Peak-0.28. The values tells it all and finally I don't like all remasters who remove the original dynamic range (which happens on 99 % of all re-releases) to be "louder".However - I also have the say that the first CD pressings I have from Germany/ZYX from 1989 don't have a good mastered EQ (at least of the Scotch tracks).
