An old review of mine from Audion Magazine #30...DIVINE SOMA EXPERIENCEWELCOME TO THE LAND OF DRAGONS(Divine 1) 2LP 98m, CD 74mAmbient trance-dance space dub? Hardly my scene really, yet this is much more interesting than you average chill-out sound, and no that's not because Ozric Roly Wynne is involved, it's because there's a lot of invention here that elevates it way above the mass marketed garbage we hear too much of. Divine Soma Experience is one "Stef" aided by guests, he's pictured playing guitar on the cover, but almost certainly also a wizard at sound sampling and processing, as that's how much of this is created, even shamelessly admitting to stealing from Ravi Shankar! If you like the idea of an ambient Ozrics/Hillage/PiL type band, this may well be for you!Alan Freeman
