Anybody else's copy skip on Rats, just opened it fresh from the shrink and it jumps about 7 times? Not happy!

I usually don't have problems with skipping records on my turntable. Dirt that causes skipping should be visible too, while this one looks quite clean. Also the skipping starts with the loud kick drum hits in Rats, so I think the mastering is the problem here. Also the lp sounds very muffled and compressed to my ears. The clear Scandinavian pressing sounds a lot better and plays fine btw.

My copy sounds pretty good, no cracks, jumps, pops or skips. Ordered mine from Nuclear Blast germany.

have you cleaned it?? No record every touches my turntable without a wet clean and vac. Even new records have debris in the grooves.

Yes! Same version and same problem here. Skips multiple times on side 1, most notably during Rats, and also one or two times on side 2. I only hope the Scandinavian version arriving today does not have those problems.
