This recording holds a special place in my sick, twisted heart. I remember seeing the film at the drive in as a youngster and being creeped out by the images and music. Not particularly liking the film, all the same, creeped out and frightened by the weirdness of it all. Flash forward about 15 years when I purchased a copy of the LP for $4.00 from a flea market vendor called Fat Joe in Columbus Ohio. It was and remains a fine addition to my collection of soundtrack recordings. I can still sense the good feeling felt that day pre-internet when I came across this gem on the American International label. One of Les Baxter's finest recordings.
