Awesome rough Vs smooth jungle, sampling Junior Reid - One Blood, SOS Band - Weekend Girl and an R&B track that I can't place (Aaliyah perhaps?).'Blood' makes me wonder if it was the inspiration for part of Coldcut's Journey's By DJ mix where they combine the A-side of The Truper (Photek, Rupert Parkes) Part 2 with Junior Reid's 'One Blood'. Although Fine Feline's version unfortunately doesn't use the instrumentation from One Blood (as is used in the Coldcut mix) it is an altogether rougher beast which reminds me a lot of the material on Bass Master Warriors' 'Before I Let Jungle Go' release, which could never be a bad thing.Weekend is my favourite track, using the Rare Groove stylings of the original track (The SOS Band - Weekend Girl) to great effect alongside the Roughneck beats. The original sample source is sped up a fair bit which makes it a bit more danceable and the pummelling beats give a great juxtaposition to the smooth groove. By the time the warping bass and smooth synths kick in you realise what a sick track it is!The last track 'Just for you' doesn't hit the same spot for me but don't let that put you off it's still a good track it's just up against some really strong competition. It's buttery R&B vocals making it perhaps a bit soft for my tastes. To my ears it just lacks a bit of the punch of the prior tunes, I'm sure some people would disagree with me though.
