Shame on me for my rating on this release two months ago! This is a true gem. Few days ago, feeling a bit tired with dBridge's fellowship, I've decided to give 'Floating Zero' a second chance. I don't regret it, as this EP is a badass that hardly few can try to match. I can't understand how could I refer to it as 'nothing special'.Each tune is a masterpiece of technique and style. This EP is without doubt among the most disturbing, layered, glitchy drum'n'bass works ever released.What is worth mentioning is that the tracks feel really fresh - considering drum'n'bass lack of freshness these days, this one is a true gem. I deeply respect Noisia for how they improve and develop their sound without losing the very special feeling of their early releases. I'm glad to see that Noisia did not shift to dubstep, as many others did when the d'n'b scene began to fade. Guys keep on delivering highest quality music marked with this Noisia blast, apocalyptic drums and incredibly harmonic complexity that easily outperforms all of this 'as complex as possible' stuff. Production quality is outstanding, but you wouldn't expect anything else from Noisia. This EP has a feeling that resembles the one that can be found in Icicle's tunes, but being honest - I can't recall him performing as good as he does here. Subterra & Dekko are outstanding, but my pick from 'Floating Zero' is 'Above The Clouds' by Engage - pure energy, there's something about it that makes me want to lose control.If you like surgically crafted, deep drum'n'bass experience that is a bit harsh and more demanding than the typical genre sound, then don't hesitate any longer and go for it.And if you're disappointed, give it another try - it is definitely worth it.
